The course is given to fourth year dental students during the first semester. It comprises 14lectures and two exams. The aim of this course is to make the student familiar with dental local anesthesia in terms of local anesthetic materials and equipment, injection techniques, and management of the different complications that might arise after injections. A brief account of
Nerve physiology and anatomical considerations will be also given.
4th year students
  
Lectures of oral surgery are given to 4th and 5th year students ,involving different divisions of oral surgery.
fourth and fifth year students
  
Fourth year dental students are expected to examine patient attending the outpatient dental department in order to establish diagnosis and perform dental extraction .Specific learning outcomes and objectives: Ability of students to recognize all types and names of instruments used in oral surgery. Acquire basic skills in exodontias. Acquire basic medical skills required to mange patients in the dental practice. Learn and enhance different local anesthetic techniques. Understand the basic principles of surgical removal of wisdom teeth. Be able to diagnose and manage the different oral surgical complications. Understand the basic principles of cross infection control in dentistry.
4th year students
  
A fourth year programm ,includes rotations in the general surgery,medicine,ENT,orthopedics departments,in addition to lectures and seminars in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
The programm involves a course in statistics.
Clinical and practical learning through oral surgery clinics ,minor and major operations and comprehensive patient care.

Lectures are given to 3d year dental students , in the summer to introduce the students to the coming clinical years.
